Dr. Jeff Samyn holds CE night with Dr. David Clark
This past Thursday evening, Dr. Jeff Samyn hosted a continuing education event for local dentists with world-renowned speaker Dr. David Clark. This was a great opportunity for dentists to learn about the latest techniques for composite restorations (tooth colored fillings). “Enhancing our skills as dentists is key and allows us to offer the best outcomes to our patients. This is why I offered this course and the reason we go into this field.”, Dr. Samyn said. Several items were discussed including cost effective ways for patients to fix diastemas and black triangles (gaps) in their front teeth.
Dr. Clark shared some cutting-edge techniques with flowable composites that preserve patients natural tooth structure while bonding directly to its surface for highly esthetic results. In the past, these gaps would have been treated with full crowns (caps) requiring more tooth to be cut away. With his additive technique, minimal tooth removal is done prior to bonding the tooth for a highly natural, strong and esthetic outcome. Dr. Clark covered other techniques, including the steps to ensure patients have minimal tooth sensitivity following composite placement and a simple but effective “rock star” polishing for amazingly natural results. One of Dr. Samyn’s missions at Northshore Endodontics has been to provide education not only to his patients, but to the dentists in his community. Overall, this was a highly informative and rewarding night for participating dentists.Dr. Jeff Samyn
